Overview

We installed 180 screw piles using 168mm CHS, with pile depths reaching up to 12 metres, to support the construction of new platforms and associated buildings. To verify performance and load-bearing capacity, six static load tests were conducted under project-specific conditions. This solution provided a fast, efficient, and low-vibration foundation system ideal for the site's ground conditions and construction schedule, ensuring long-term stability and compliance with engineering requirements.

Challenges

The project was carried out under tight access conditions within an active rail corridor, where working platforms were restricted to widths as narrow as 3.5 metres. These spatial constraints required meticulous planning, compact equipment selection, and precise coordination to safely execute piling and construction activities without disrupting rail operations. Our team's experience in confined environments enabled efficient workflow, maintaining safety and productivity within the limited footprint available.

Solution

We engineered and fabricated custom hydraulic grab systems to safely lift and install pile segments in the restricted environment, ensuring safety and efficiency throughout.
